Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the appraisal process for fine gems and fine jewellery?

Upon reception of your file and a first glance of the jewellery’s iamges and documentation, we will be able to accept your meeting for an appraisal or not. Our appraisal process involves evaluating your fine gems and fine jewellery based on the images, certification documents, and other relevant information provided by you. We then offer an estimated market value and different sales options to help you decide the best course of action for selling your items.

2. How much does the appraisal service cost?

The appraisal service itself is provided free of charge.

3. How do I send my images and documents for appraisal?

You can securely upload your images, documents, and high-definition videos using the designated upload feature on our appraisal page. We recommend providing clear, high-quality images and relevant documents for accurate appraisal results.

4. How long does it take to receive the appraisal results?

We strive to provide appraisal results during our appointments. If further analysis is necessary for the creation of a gemological report from a laboratory, it will of course depend on the gemological laboratory not us. Upon reception of the report, you can expect to receive the final appraisal within a few business days. The turnaround time may vary depending on the complexity of the evaluation and the volume of requests.

5. Can I sell my fine gemstones and fine jewellery without a certificate?

Yes, you can still sell your items without a gemological report. However, obtaining a report from a reputable organisation like GIA will help enhance the value and credibility of your diamonds and diamond jewellery. Even in case of no certificate, we offer appraisal services for vintage, special pieces, or items with missing information.

6. What sales options do you offer?

We offer three sales options: immediate resale for a competitive market value, auction or online sale, and showcasing the item in our showroom and website for private clients. The choice of the sales option depends on your preferences and circumstances, such as the urgency to sell, the item’s value, and its potential for improvement.

7. Is my information secure when using your appraisal services?

We take data privacy and security very seriously. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information and ensure the safe and secure transmission of your data during the appraisal process. For more details, please refer to our privacy policy.
